Little Munchkin Learns #1: Colors In Cups

Image
Since the last school year ended, I realized that time is really coming in very fast. My little munchkin will be turning 3 on September and not long after that, Edmund and I will be obliged to *cough cough* enroll her already in school. There’s no doubt that Steffy is a smart kid. Her memory is so sharp she can recall a tune from any commercial even if she only heard it once (not to mention memorizing the script and acting it out with feelings). No problem also with her social skills. She can win the Ms. Congeniality award with a unanimous decision. But the big question is, how prepared is she for school?        I’ve been contemplating on the question from quite some time now. Counting from 1-20, check! Knowing the basic shapes, check! Knows her nursery rhymes, check! Roughly knows a range of animals from every species, check! Her vocabulary is, in my opinion, a bit advanced for her age. However, there are areas that I’m a bit worried a...

Island Escapade 2013: Puerto Galera

Since I was a kid, travelling and going to new places has allured me. Thus I was labeled 'makati ang paa'. But come to think of it, who doesn't like travelling right? The appeal of exploring unfamiliar lands, meeting different kinds of people and immersing in diverse cultures and environment is so strong that I swore to myself that at least once a year, I will be able to cross out one place off my Vacation Places List. And indeed, it is way much cheaper to go to Galera than Bora. The sand may not be as white and as fine as Bora's but it will do. Actually, it's my second time to go to Galera. The first time I went there was with my then boyfriend (and now fiancee) Edmund. We were on a tighter budget and we just spent one night there. But this time...

And So It Begins

I remember when I was still in SSAM (St. Scholastica's Academy Marikina), we have informal and formal writing exercises as part of our curriculum requirements for Filipino and English subjects. I do enjoy these activities because I am able to freely express my thoughts and opinions on given topics. Looking back, I realized that I do love writing especially when I am in the mood or something (someone) inspired me. I even tried composing poems although not the 'Shakespearean' and 'poetic' type. Yet, there came a time that my priorities shifted and I became more active in other extra-curricular activities that is why my enthusiasm for writing dwindled.        Fortunately, because of my current work, I've been exposed again to a lot of writing. AND thanks to my workmate Trish, (who is a dedicated blogger), my passion flared once more. Thus, the Merry Munchkins Chronicles was born. Still in the process of building my dream blog site tho...
